The original Sketch deviation, by yours-truly:
This was a very special project, commissioned by a dear friend. She wanted to have a statement piece to represent her own symbols of power and strength. There is a ram skull as the main focal point of the piece with two great oak trees in the background, on either side of the skull. The season represented is fall, so the oaks are shedding their leaves on a breeze - which is carrying the autumn leaves to the forefront of the image.
There are also a pair of moons on each corner of the breast plate, one full and one crescent - to represent the passing of time and cycling. The scene is finished in a matte stone grey, while the "hammered" framing is in a metallic gun metal grey with painted gold spikes. The whole neck plate is heavily inspired by armor, further providing a representation of strength and courage.
The whole piece is sculpted from Super Sculpey and finished in various levels of acrylics and staining gels. Attached to a hefty antiqued chain. The neck plate measures approximately 7" wide.
This project was not only fun but very personal since I know the recipient closely, and she is thrilled with the outcome.
